We take Cabernet Franc very seriously at Bravante Vineyards. There are 3 blocks that each give us several different characteristics that help us build our Cabernet Franc and the other wines we grow. Our varietal Cabernet Franc comes from the 2 blocks on our Stone Ridge Vineyard blended with a little Stone Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker notes: The 2014 Cabernet Franc has aromas of black cherries and blueberries, meshed with the lingering forest aromas and hints of violets. The palate echoes cherries and blueberries, blended with a firm core and bright acidity that carries through a lengthy finish. Pair this wine with lamb chops on the grill, 5-spice crusted duck breast, or a flourless raspberry tart.

This shows the freshness of the cooler 2014 vintage with redder fruit aromas and flavors, as well as a bright, energetic line of acidity that carries through to the fresh, lithe and juicy finish. A blend of 89 per cent cabernet franc and 11 per cent cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold. 91 points - James Suckling
